PA Day

Welcome to the Lab

Thanks for joining me in the lab.

If you have any questions, please come see me or email me. I am always happy to help.

Start small, end large

The number of apps and sites that are available to you are endless.

Today we will look at a few apps and sites that can be used in your class by both you and your students.

These are by no means the end all and be all that you can use. Start small, with something familiar and end large with an expanding repertoire of tools to use.

Share

If there are other tools that you are using, and they work well for you, please feel free to share them with your team, (especially so that I can learn about them),

PLAY, PLAY, PLAY

Give yourself plenty of time to learn how to negotiate these new tools.

Your students will also need time to become familiar with them.

It takes time to play with these apps and sites to become proficient, so, play on.

Social Media to Consider

You Tube

Create a you tube channel for your class. It is free. Students can upload content to that channel, and then video links can be added to class site, blogs, or other social media.

Twitter

Create a Twitter account for your class. It is free. Tweet out links to you tube video links, audio files, homework, assignments, photos.

Mobi

Control your computer from anywhere in the class. Basically an over glorified mouse. There is more that it can do, but I have not had the time to explore with it.

Each grade level gets 2 devices. Pick yours up today if you haven't done so already, so at least you can walk away with something.

Thanks for attending and have fun playing.
