First Day Fun!

We had a blast on Friday! 2nd grade students were able to meet all of their specials teachers, spend time with their classroom teacher, take a tour of the school and enjoy lunch and recess. 3rd grade students were able to spend time with their classroom teacher, enjoy lunch and recess and get to play at an additional recess. It was a great first day and we look forward to having a wonderful year.

Meet Your New Principal!

Mrs. Jennifer Kenney

My name is Jennifer Kenney and I am so excited to be the Principal of Coal City Elementary School! I am looking forward to a year of learning, growth and excitement with your child(ren). We have so many wonderful things planned for this school year.

Prior to this position, I was the Assistant Principal of Coal City High School for 3 years and taught for 12 years in Minooka School District 201. I hold a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Illinois State University.

I live in Coal City with my husband of 18 years and our 4 children who currently attend CCHS and CCIS. It is exciting to work in the district that I reside, as I am proud to serve the community that I love!

It is important that we build the home to school connection. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any concerns, questions and to tell us about the great things that we are doing at CCES! Please see my contact information below and do not forget to follow the new CCES Facebook page and Twitter feed. I look forward to working with you this year as we build our community of learning at Coal City Elementary School.

G-Force

We are excited to announce that the G-Force will be arriving at our school on Monday! G-Force is a group of grandparents that will be welcoming the students every day! They will be wearing bright green G-Force shirts that signify that they are members. All G-Force members have had a background check prior to entering the schools. They will also be accompanied by a staff member at every location. Welcome to our grandparents!

PSO

The Coal City PSO is looking for parents to assist with various activities and attend meetings. The PSO does so many great things for our schools including funding end of the year activities, providing various supplies and giving opportunities for families to engage outside of school hours. Please consider giving a little bit of your time to help out this organization. We are so thankful for all that they do!
