Parsons Pirates Update
November 13, 2023
Message From the Principal
Dear Parsons Families,
Thank you so much for helping us pass the Bond. We are excited for all the amazing renovations and opportunities this allows us in GSD. Also, thank you to all the family members who came for Parent Teacher Conferences. We are a team and couldn't do it without you. Finally, we were so proud to end our week by honoring our veterans at our Veteran's Day assembly. It was a beautiful and moving event. Thank you to all who participated.
Sincerely,
Sarah Aherne
Carlson Marauders Regional Championship Football Game Tonight
We are so excited to host the first ever regional championship football game this Friday, November 10th, in Marauder Stadium. This means that our team is in the Elite 8 of division 2 in the state! Your Carlson Marauders will host the Waterford Mott Corsairs. Game time is 7 pm and our young men are once again looking for our entire crowd to be the 12th player on the field. Last week, our community and student section rallied around our players on the field and we want to have that same energy again this Friday. We hope our entire community will join us in wearing blue and white and cheering loudly for our team as they look to keep the playoff train rolling!

In Gibraltar, we take great pride in our school spirit and fan participation. Elementary school students are encouraged to attend sporting events. That being said, ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT for admission to varsity football games. The adult accompanying the Elementary school student(s) is responsible for their behavior and well-being throughout the duration of the sporting event, as well as transportation home after the event.
We fully expect our students to demonstrate appropriate behavior while attending CHS events. Hanging out under the bleachers, engaging in horseplay, hanging on the poles that support the bleachers, and throwing things off the back of the stadium are all behaviors we have unfortunately seen our younger fans taking part in. Not only are these dangerous, but they also do not display the Marauder Pride that we build our reputation upon, and are known for. Please know that we want and encourage our young Marauders to cheer on the CHS football team, but we must ensure that the environments on both sides of the stadium are positive and safe, and that our elementary school Marauder fans are well-supervised.
Please review the general expectations for our elementary students:
Elementary Varsity Spectator Guidelines:
Elementary students will not be permitted into the stadium without a responsible accompanying adult and ticket. The expectation for students is to act responsibly and with respect throughout the entire game.
Students need to be seated in the stands or standing/walking to/from the concession area
No pickup football games anywhere within the stadium
No hanging out beneath bleachers or hanging from the bleacher support poles
Nothing should be thrown from the bleachers
No running anywhere within the stadium
No backpacks
No cups or outside drinks
Fill The Bus!

Teacher of the Month
Jamie Churches', State Representative HD 27, office has a new ‘Teacher of the Month’ nomination form available on their website. As always, they wish to highlight the phenomenal educators of our district and showcase their incredible efforts in the classroom, with our students, and within the school community. I have attached the link to this email for your convenience. As they receive nominations, her team will reach out accordingly to schedule a day/time to present the award to a teacher per school month. Last year, Brittany Gurney received this award. We have so many awesome educators!
