HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Cells Test Retakes 1/8/2016

End of quarter 2: 1/27/2016

Last week in science, we finished the cell unit. It ended with the a summative cell test on Friday. Students will have the option to retake the test this Friday 1/8. Their ticket to retake this test is corrections on their first attempt.

I finished correcting the INBs that were turned in. We completed INB assignments up through page 53 which were worth a significant amount of points. I will continue to take assignments and corrections up through Friday January 22.

When we return to school, we will analyze why cells are important and will also discuss some current issues that involve cells. Then it is off to how these characters divide!

If the kids use their class time wisely this week, there should not be much homework. However, as I am looking through the INBs, it is very clear who is on top of it and the ones who are not using the time I give them. If would appreciate if parents would take a look through and discuss the last 10-15 pages (up through pg 53) of their INBs with their kids. There should not be any blank pages and everything should have a score on it. Remember I will take any missing work/make-up work/ or corrections up through January 22.

Reminder: the planner, text book pages, instructional videos, handouts, and copies of the notes can also be found on my website.

Student of the Week: Olivia M.

Olivia is one of the hardest working students in Science. She is constantly striving to do the best she can. She puts the social aspects of school to the side and puts great effort into achieving the best grade she can In my class. She channels all of her energy into one of the most fantastic Interactive notebooks! She is always well-mannered, she takes pride in her work, and she is so even-tempered. She takes on every assignment with a dedication to excellence and without complaining - this sets such a great example for those around her. She provides a calm and studious presence in class every day which I truly appreciate!

Below are few examples of Olivia's work. Unfortunately, the pictures do not do justice to her fabulous effort!
