One2Web TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVE
Dear Hughston Parents,
It is with great excitement that we announce phase one of the PISD district’s technology initiative, One2Web, has come to Hughston. The One2Web initiative is a 3 year implementation project aimed at enhancing each child’s learning experience with a mobile device called a Chromebook.
The One2Web initiative will bring devices to all teachers and students in Plano ISD. We can leverage technology's potential to enrich and deepen the understanding of our students by creating an engaging, future ready, learning environment. Using interactive tools such as Google Classroom, Formative, and Nearpod is possible with One2Web.
As we entered phase one this week, every third and fifth grade classroom received a set of Chromebooks. Each child will be given the opportunity to use his/her assigned Chromebook at school. This new device will be for school use only. In phase two, coming next year, all second and fourth grade classrooms will receive Chromebooks. Finally, in phase three by 2020, kindergarten and first grade classrooms will receive Chromebooks as well.
With this new initiative, students have the opportunity to learn, create, and collaborate anywhere, anytime.
Sincerely,
Carrie D’Argo
