A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL MORROW
Well we're here, the last week of school is upon us.
This year has been fast and furious. North Star Elementary has so much to be thankful for and proud of. Beginning with the North Star Team and their dedication to providing a positive learning community with high expectations for all learners. Next, our fantastic, amazing, talented, fun-loving students. They are so kind and welcoming to everyone that enters our building. Finally, we are grateful for our North Star families. A quick note from Nurse Michelle...
Parent Reminder!
Please make arrangements to pick up any student medications stored in the nurses office before May 26th, 2023. District Policy requires the parent to deliver and pick up all medications to and from the nurse's office.
Please call the nurse @907-486-7501 if you need to make alternative arrangements.
Medications cannot be kept over the summer vacation and any medications left in the Nurse's Office after May 26th, 2023 will be discarded.

Save the date, 6th graders!
Records Requests and Enrollment for 2023-24
If you haven't already, please let the office know what your plans are for the 2023-24 school year.
Moving/Transferring? - We know living situations and student needs can change over the summer so even if you are unsure, we'd like to be aware of that as well. It helps us know who we may need to check in with when we get back after summer break.
A note on student records - North Star records can not be sent from the Central Office during the summer. If you need records before you leave, be sure to get that request in to us now. Any requests submitted after May will be completed when we get back to school in August. We can email, fax or print records to be hand-carried, so just let us know what you need and we will be happy to help.
The North Star office team appreciates all you do!
NAVIGATOR UPDATES
-NOTES, MENUS, BUCKET FILLERS and OTHER REMINDERS-
Moving? Please pay your lunch balance before you go. Thank you!
May Breakfast and Lunch Menu
KIBSD Meal Program and Account Payments
If you want to deposit lunch money with a credit card through your PowerSchool parent portal,
please remember that you will need to access the online version.
You can find that link on the www.KIBSD.org website, under the FAMILIES tab.
KIBSD does not support the PowerSchool App, so you won't be able to pay fees that way.
Even though some student info is viewable on the app,
it does not connect to our PowerSchool lunch or activity fee accounts.
We are also always happy to accept cash or checks for student lunch accounts in the office.
Call us @907-486-7500 if you have questions or need any help with parent portal access.
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Start the process and be ready to help out at school.
Once background checks are approved, they are valid for three years.
Just email volunteer@kibsd.org and let them know that you would like to volunteer at North Star.
The Human Resources department will walk you through the rest.
We look forward to seeing you!

⭐ NAVIGATOR FINE ART HIGHLIGHT⭐
For our last fine art highlight of the year we have some fiber art to share!
Mrs. Lickfield's 2nd grade class got to learn the delicate technique of silk painting.
These color washed pieces are full of movement and intricate designs.
Stunning!
We hope everyone has some time to make art over the summer.
We'd love to highlight your summer works when we get back in the fall.
Please share with us!
