## Adding and subtracting fractions.

Adding

- Find the common denominator by multiplying. If it already has the same denominator you don't need to find a common denominator
- If you multiplied the denominator you must multiply the numerator by the same multiple.
- Then add the numerator. But don't add the denominator.
- Lastly simplify your answer if you need to.

Subtracting

Keep, change,flip

- Keep, keep the first number the same.
- Change, change the division sign to the multiplication sign.
- Flip, flip the second fraction to get the reciprocal.
- Lastly multiply across and simplify you answer if you need to.

## Multiplying decimals

- Line up your place values and then multiply normally.
- When you have your answer skip as many place values that are after the decimal in your numbers.

## Dividing decimals

- make your divisor a whole number, by moving the decimal.
- Then if your dividend has a decimal move it back the same number of spaces you did to your divisor .
- Do regular long division, make sure to line up your place values!
- If your dividend has a decimal in it move it straight up.
