Husky Happenings - Family Edition
Week of September 6th
Kindness Recap/Learning To Learn/Split Lunch Locations
Can I just say that last week with a BLAST? It was so much fun to see the students and staff dressed as superheroes, in their PJ's, shining bright in their neon outfits and as always sporting their Husky gear. You could feel and see the kindness as students held open doors for each other, offered to let new students sit at their lunch tables and we even had a small crew volunteer to help the administration wash tables after lunch. Makes me one super proud principal! This week our Huskies will be starting on a Study Skills unit created by the LISD Counseling Department titled "Learning to Learn." Students will given the opportunity to self-reflect on their own current study skills and talk about what study skills are needed to be successful in middle school and beyond. As the numbers continue to slowly rise, we will be splitting up our 7th/8th mixed lunches between the cafeteria and gyms. Last week we rolled out 6th grades split and then did a phenomenal job and now it is 7th/8th grades turn. Please remember that the district is requesting all parties wear masks when in the building and that guests will be asked to sanitize up entry. Thanks for all that you do to help us keep our students safe and successful.

Everyone is invited to the come-and-go events, which is a great opportunity to learn and see how LISD’s career centers offer students valuable industry knowledge through classroom experiences and internship programs, as well as the chance to obtain industry certifications to prepare students for the workplace.
