Lead Mentor February Update
Back to the grind!
I trust you all had a fantastic break and are back into the swing of things on your campus. I know many of you are starting to pull double/triple duty as you are preparing for testing season, but I want you to take a quick break from that as we prepare for this month's virtual support session.
Over the last few months we have covered topics for collaborative inquiry and the importance of helping our mentors as they support new teachers working with collaborative teams, and looking at our Self Assessment Induction and Mentoring plan to determine growth as well as growth opportunities for the remainder of the year. If you have not already done the midpoint self assessment, please complete it before the February session. You will find it embedded at the bottom of this update or in the Lead Mentor Canvas course.
We have also tried out some new ways to share information with you and this month isn't going to be any different - we have another breakout session! This session's rooms will be based on your years of experience in order to answer questions on/discussing fostering reflection and providing accountability for mentors and new teachers. To get the most out of this discussion, it will be helpful for you to have access to a microphone and/or webcam in order to be seen/heard by your fellow Lead Mentors.
I encourage you to attend the live sessions as you will get the benefit of the chat box discussions as well as the breakout room discussions that are not always available when watching the recording. As always though, resources will be available to you in this update as well as the Lead Mentor Course on Canvas.
I look forward to meeting with you all soon!
