Rebels and Red Coats
A political revolution is an extreme change of political systems or rulers, or a change in the way something is done within a political system. It is a system of rulers, because every government and country has a ruler. Without one the government would go corrupt. When you have a change within a political system it could be getting a new ruler or having new laws. An example of this is the british or otherwise known as the "red coats" being ruled by King George the third (George William Frederick).
The American Revolution
The American Revolution was a political upheaval during the last half of the 18th century, in which thirteen colonies in North America joined together to break free from the British Empire, combining to become the United States of America. They first rejected the authority of the Parliament of Great Britain to govern them from overseas without representation, and then expelled all royal officials.
The French Revolution
The French Revolution (1789–1799) was a period of radical social and political upheaval in both French and European history. The absolute monarchy that had ruled France for centuries collapsed within three years.
The Haitian Revolution
On 22 August, 1791, the slaves of Saint Domingue rose in revolt and plunged the colony into civil war. The signal to begin the revolt was given by Dutty Boukman, a high priest of vodoo and leader of the Maroon slaves, during a religious ceremony at Bois Caïman, on the night of August 14th. Within the next ten days, slaves had taken control of the entire Northern Province in an unprecedented slave revolt.
