Eagles' Odds and Ends & Continued Reminders

  • Called Faculty Meeting: This Wednesday at 3:45 in the art room (will not take long). Need everyone in attendance.
  • No Grade Level Meetings Wednesday: (Dr. Eskut and Mrs. Johnson have meetings at Central Office. (SILT at 4:00)
  • Team Leader Meeting, Thursday: 3:45
  • Club Advisement: Monday is Club Advisement Day. Students who are not going to a meeting should stay in HR and read something of their choice (Battle of the Books, book for fun, etc.)
  • Insurance Password: Don't forget to login to the Health Insurance Web Site and create a new password. Open Enrollment for Madras is at the end of the month.
  • Fire Drill: We will do our best to conduct a fire drill before the end of the day Wednesday (weather permitting.) We have to conduct one before October 1st, so we will try to pick up a time when it's as dry as possible.
  • Volleyball Championship: It would mean a lot to our team if all staff members who can - could attend the championship game at Lee on Monday at 5:30. Admission is free to all CCSS employees. (Just show your badge.)
  • PBIS: Data members have a meeting Wednesday afternoon (Sears, Eskut, Johnson)
  • Cell Phones: We are asking students to turn off phones for the instructional school day. This includes bus loading zone and car rider zone. Please, however, use discretion in this. We ask students not to be on phones in the car riding zone because they aren't paying attention to their rides pulling up. There are occasions, however, when Dr. Betts may ask students to call home (including athletic events), and of course there are occasions at school (BYOT, cancelled events, etc.) when students are permitted to use their phones to call parents. If you have questions, please talk to an administrator.
  • Duties: Check your weekly supervision duties, and let an administrator know if you have questions. Dr. Betts will send directions regarding the tailgating and home football game on Tuesday. Honeybaked sandwiches will be provided to staff members working the game.
  • TKES: We are now conducting second TKES walk throughs. Remember that you will not sign off on anything else in the future without your primary evaluator's assistance - even if you receive an automated email from the DOE.
  • Lesson Plans: Don't forget there are folders for you to save your lesson plans to in Eagle info. Go to: Eagle Info>Lesson Plans>Grade>Subject. These should be in the folders each week by Monday morning. Choice of formats is in the curriculum and instruction folder in Eagle Info. If you have another option you'd like to consider, please run it by us. :-)
  • Grade Level Meetings: Grade level meetings are scheduled for Wednesday,
  • Google Drive: All school information will be placed in a Google a folder named Eagle Info in your "shared with me" drive. I have made the folder "view only" to prevent files from being deleted or copied over, so if you need to alter a file, you will need to make a personal copy and move it to your drive.
  • Advisement Plans: Don't forget that these plans are in the Eagle Info folder under Advisement Plans. All plans are hyperlinked. We switched Monday advisement this week to Friday to allow extra time to group advisees with an advisor.
  • Sign-In/Sign-Out: Sign in and out each day in the front office. Check your box twice daily for messages or important information. Return all parent emails/phone calls within 24 school hours. (Refer to handbook for guidelines.)
  • Hat Day: Is every Friday. Homeroom teachers will need to issue stickers for students who buy a Hat Day Pass ($1.00) every Friday. Stickers should be visible on the hat with the date. All proceeds go to the Ferst Foundation to promote early childhood literacy. If you have questions, see your team leader.

Remember Our Goal: Connect with Five Students Daily

Connect with 5 students (include staff too) who add value by being in your life. Let them know how they make a positive difference in this world. Get to know their stories. Any random act of kindness goes a long way and makes an immediate impact. Kindness is contagious. By modeling this daily, we will begin to see a culture shift with our students. Exiting year to be an EAGLE. Together we're going to do great things!

“Wherever there is a human in need, there is an opportunity for kindness and to make a difference.”
