Join our Team for the Alzheimer's Walk!
On behalf of the Health and Wellness Committee, I’d like to invite you to join us for fun and fitness for a good cause! We are gathering a team to participate in the Fort Bend County 5K Walk to End Alzheimer's on the morning of Saturday, October 27.
We'd be excited to have a whole AMBUSH of Tigers, friends, and family members represented at the event. Gather your friends and make a fun day of it! After the event, you can also come support our Tiger Football team when they play Clements.
Please consider joining our team for the walk, especially if you can do so in honor of someone who has been affected by Alzheimer's. Currently, more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's and that number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050.

Mike Smith Tour at Travis on October 25th!
We are very fortunate to be the kick off stop on Mike Smith's School Culture Revival Tour for Jostens. They will be here on October 25th and we will be hosting numerous Houston area schools for this one day event. The event will run from 8-3. Of course, one of the benefits of hosting an event like this is that we will be able to send a large number of Travis students to attend - we are hoping several hundred of our kids will be able to participate! That being said, we wanted to give you a heads up as that could create some interruption in your normal instructional day! We also appreciate everyone's efforts leading up to the event at taking those extra steps to ensure our building and grounds look great! The event itself will be housed in the gym area, hallway, and gym entrance so physically should not interrupt too much in the flow of our normal daily operations with the exception of PE and gym sports. (Thank you coaches for your amazing flexibility!) The link below is currently pinned on our Twitter and it is a short hype video that Mike has put out about the Travis event!
Coaches and sponsors - be sure you have submitted all activity participant lists to Mrs. Herring for Tiger Pride Points! The next reward pulls points on Sunday 10/28.

Carissa K. is Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month!
William B. Travis High School is proud to announce that senior Carissa Knitowski is the recipient of the Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month Award for October 2018. The Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month recognition is for a deserving student who has made an impact within their school or community through Jostens Renaissance.
Jostens Renaissance is a program that focuses on recognizing students and staff. The core of the program revolves around the five R’s: what you Respect, Reward, Recognize, and Reinforce = Results.
Carissa was selected based on her exceptional dedication and commitment to the values of Travis High School and Jostens Renaissance. She has brought her considerable talents to the JROTC, theater department, National Honor Society, English and Spanish Honor Societies, and Beta Club, and has shown her school community that there are many ways to be a leader.
