Marking Period 3 End of Semester 1
We are reaching the end of the first semester 2021-2022 school year. This means our students should be on track to earn 3.5 credits this semester. Check your progress in Skyward. Credits are the key to graduation success. Seniors, we are flying into the 2022 spring and preparing for your graduation. Stay focused on your goals.
Please continue to encourage students to use all of the resources available on campus for their success.
Thank you for your support, understanding, and patience as our staff continues to grow student minds.
Sincerely,
Shelby Balser

Marking Period 3 Report Card Grades
Marking period grades are used to regain UIL eligibility. Students who fail any course for marking period 3 will lose their eligibility to start the second semester. Eligibility will be lost on Friday, January 7 at 3:40. Semester grades do not determine eligibility but do determine credit acquisition. Please speak with your student's sponsor or coach with eligibility questions.
After-School Tutoring Available with Late Bus Monday-Thursday
A 4:30 Late Bus runs each day Monday through Thursday for students wishing to attend after-school tutorials. A late bus pass is required and can be obtained from their teacher.

House Bill 4545 Information & What it means for our Students?
Accelerated Instruction requirements are met by delivering supplemental instruction (tutoring) before school, after school, or embedded in the school day.
We have met with all students in grades 9 through 12 who require the accelerated instruction. 10th through 12th grade students will have another STAAR testing opportunity in December. 9th grade students are preparing for April and May STAAR tests.
Students have been provided with options for before school, after school, or during F.I.T lunch tutoring. We've encouraged each student to log at least one hour per week in preparation for the December retest. Students are required to log 30 hours of additional instruction per test.
See the flyer below for Accelerated Instruction Options.

Technology Updates for Tivy High School-Device Insurance & Network Updates
Our students have been issued devices and are using them daily on campus. Please take advantage of the device insurance. Device insurance can be found under Fines & Fees tab in Skyward Family access.
Due to necessary district technology updates, we will no longer be able to support the "Bring Your Own Device" network for student personal devices. This transition happened quickly and we have just a handful of students still using their own devices.
What this means? We are not supporting the use of student phones, student tablets, or student-owned computers on the school's WIFI network. We are supporting approximately 1400 laptops for students, all teacher computers, and the soon-to-be installed ViewSonic board upgrades for the campus.
If your student wishes to be issued a locker for device storage, please have them see Mrs. Wren in the assistant principal's office. If your student needs a laptop issued, please have them see Mrs. Strain in the library.
Fines & Fees
- Parking Permit
- Computer/Device Insurance
- AP College Board Payments
- Dual Credit Payments
Fee Management Link can be accessed through Skyward Family Access
SHOUT OUT: Tivy Treasures Opens Mrs. Burkhart's and Mrs. Goodwyn's students opened their own store selling their manufactured Tivy goods. The store is open Monday and Friday during all three lunches. Ask your students to check it out! The store helps our students gain valuable vocational experience. | SHOUT OUT: Tivy Theater's Nightfall Tivy Theater delights again with the Nightfall with Edgar Allen Poe. The group brought back the English classics for our students and three evening performances for fans. Tivy Theater has already started preparations for UIL One Act Play. | SHOUT OUT: College Night Success Our counseling office hosted a successful College Night in November. This is an annual event and it is never too early to start planning. Connect with Mrs. Riederer and the counselors for help with college, career, and military planning. |

Social Media, Support & P3 Campus Reporting
The campus is working through the latest series of social media challenges and situations.
We continue to discuss with students the impact of social media/technology and the digital resume we are building with each post, comment, video, etc. There are many positive powerful uses for social media and technology to connect people, information, and ideas. We encourage students to focus on the positive impacts they make on the world around them. Please partner with us to encourage this message and monitor your student's use of technology.
Additionally, both students and parents have access to our P3 campus system for reporting concerns anonymously. Our safety motto is "If you see something, say something."; we are here to help.
