Student Safety Measures - Just a few...

Close Up/Katy ISD has multiple student safety measures in place:

1. Students travel with teachers from KISD Junior High Schools and their campus sponsor

2. A KISD administrator travels with the students (sometimes more than one)

3. The trip is ONLY open to current KISD seventh graders

4. Ladies and Gentlemen are separated in hotels - usually, they are on different floors

5. Bed checks are done each night - that includes a VISUAL head count of the four occupants of each room

6. Night monitors are placed in each hotel hallway to prevent unauthorized people from entering or leaving the area.

Who is Close Up?

Close Up is a non-profit organization that has shown more than 900,000 teachers and students, first hand, the power of the political process and how it relates to them. Close Up Founding of a Nation program is specifically geared toward Katy ISD and it's students. For more information about the Close Up organization visit: http://closeup.org

Prior to the trip, parents will have my cell phone number.
