NOW IS THE TIME TO GET ENROLLED!
PLEASE GET ENROLLED NOW! Now is the time to go to 4-H online and enroll yourself for the new 4-H year. You MUST be enrolled to go to a 4-H meeting, 4-H event or attend a regional or state opportunity. If you were elected as a club or county officer you also need to enroll NOW. All adults should also be registered and be a screened volunteer. It's easy and doesn't take much time to go into 4-H online and get this done. This can be part of a club meeting to get everyone entered. Don't wait
4-H is open to ALL youth in grades K-1 year past high school. Everyone knows someone they can recruit to join the Lac qui Parle County 4-H program. Invite a friend to a club meeting, 4-H workshop or regional event and ask them to join 4-H! Let's grow grow grow our clubs and membership.

FRUIT and BUTTER BRAIDS SALES
Every month is a giving month to others - What can you do to make a difference?
Working with audiences with disabilities matters
This was the topic for our fall training - we appreciate when adults and youth are open to learning and understanding how 4-H is open for all youth. Think how to include all at a club meeting -during games - activities and the meeting. Where you are meeting - does it meet the needs for all to move around, sit at a table, being able to see and hear all. How can things be adapted for all to participate. It's important to CHANGE when needed. Promoting your club to gain new members is key to the openness you provide.
Here are some strategies for presuming competence:
Examine your attitude
Question your stereotypes
Use age appropriate talk
Teach peers and others
Do not speak in front of someone - always include
Don't speak for others - allow them to introduce themselves
Every person will benefit from learning
Look for evidence of understanding
Show understanding of youth using their strengths
Adapt and support
Acknowledge the presence of all equally
Work as a club to make sure this is happening and all are welcome
