chief of state- this role requires the president to be inspiring and an example for american people


chief executive-the president is the boss for millions of government workers in t

he executive branch


chief guardian of the economy- in this role the president is concerned with such things as unemployment, high prices, taxes, business profits, and the general prosperity of the country the president does not control the economy


chief diplomat- the president decides what american diplomats and ambassadors shall say to foreign governments with help advisors the president makes the foreign for the US


commander and chief-s the person or body that exercises supreme operational command and control of a nation's military forces or significant elements of those forces.


chief legislator- only congress has the power to make laws but the constitution gives the president power to influence congress in its law making. President may urge congress to pass laws or veto bills.


party chief- a leader in a political party who controls votes and dictates appointments
