Mr. Harris' Thoughts
GES Families,
Happy Groundhog Day! In the movie, starring Bill Murray, the main character (Phil) is reliving each day to the exact detail from the day before. The comedy comes from how Phil makes small adjustments to his routines and behaviors to see how it effects the outcome.
Here at GES, we do our best to not have each day be like Groundhog Day. We are constantly reflecting, collecting and analyzing data through assessment, making instructional decisions and adjustments, and then reassessing. Our goal is to ensure that ALL students are working hard to meet their goals and be successful learners. We do this to learn from our mistakes and have a continuous improvement mindset.
HASD Mission - "Our Community Ensures Every Student Learns at the Highest Level."
Thank you!

GES Polar Pals
I am happy to announce that we are bringing back our Polar Pals program for the remainder of the school year! Polar Pals are parent/family volunteers that come to school for the day to help in classrooms, at lunch, and at recess. You will be supervising and working with groups of children on academic tasks that teachers identify and assign. You will be a trusted adult that children can come to at recess to problem solve or help them open a "tricky" container at lunch. Below is a list of reminders for our Polar Pals.
- Please arrive at 7:20 and the day ends at 3:00.
- You must have a current background check on file with the district office.
- Part of your day will be with your child's class and part will be working in other classrooms.
- You will be able to eat lunch with your child and be at recess with them.
- Please keep in mind that we have confidentiality policies to follow and that you must not share information about children with any other adult. We do not have any secrets at GES, just confidentiality.
- Please set good examples for proper dress and modeling respectful and school appropriate behavior.
- Interact with children in a way that encourages good sportsmanship and taking turns.
If you are interested in more information or to sign up to volunteer, please call 920.757.7160.
