The BEAUTY of who YOU are!!!!
I'm always so amazed when I look into my granddaughters eyes, just in conversation. The beauty that I get to witness within and through her, based upon my past. It's incredible that she is a complete duplicate of my daughter. But what's truly profound to me, is that my daughter is a duplicate of my mom; who I lost many years ago. The beauty and reflection of what used to be for me is truly now right in front of me. It truly gives me chills. I honestly catch myself just staring at these two beautiful creations that are a living testimony and legacy of how I came to be.
It's sometimes hard for me to have others tell me that I am beautiful because of what I lost with my mom. But it's not due to the appreciation of what others see in me. It's more of what I'm missing from her. See, my mom to me was truly one of the most beautiful women that I've ever seen. She had a heart of gold and it showed from the inside - out. She took the time to fully do for others in such a way that proved in my eyes, perfection. Then when she left this earth, I fought hard to become the woman that she was. Trying to display that same heart and beauty. That same sort of perfection. In time, I realized that what I was doing was trying to become someone that I could never be, and for a reason. My mom was just that. My mom. And I am ME. I am beautiful in my own ways that are far different from how she was and that's exactly how it's supposed to be. I was created in the image of God's eye, not mom's eyes. The good Lord didn't make me to be just like someone else. He created me, just like YOU, and everyone else to embrace our own beauty and exactly what we have to give to others in this world.
I love that if we just take the time to notice, we will see the BEAUTY in all things and everyone. But what truly will most likely prove to be our own personal challenge, is fully seeing and then embracing the true BEAUTY that's within ourselves.

1 Peter 3:4
Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.

Mommy Moment with Sandra Mercado
Hello, my name is Sandra Mercado and my husband's name is Ray, whom I met in church at the age of 17. We have been married for 13 years and have three beautiful daughters, Jalyssa (11), Elyse (8), and Alayna (2). I have been a stay at home mom for 9 years and have enjoyed every moment of it. While being at home and taking care of my three girls has it's challenges, I wouldn't give it up for anything in the world. We recently moved from Chicago, IL to Frisco, TX this past June and by the Grace of God we are all adjusting well.
Being new to the area and not having any of my extended family here made it extremely important that I get involved and establish new relationships with others. I want to encourage all the moms to plug into this amazing mommy group it will bless your lives! I have never been part of a group like this in the past, and I am extremely grateful for having been welcomed with open arms. ELC and my mommies group have helped make this transition much easier for us. I am looking forward to more exciting and new experiences with our family of choice!
Kid's Prayer Corner
Memory verse:
"God is love." 1 John 4:8
Prayer:
Hold my hand, Lord,
show me the way.
Help me to be grateful
every day.
Show me the difference
between right and wrong.
Keep me safe, Lord,
all night long.
Give me direction
on what to do,
Lead the way, Lord,
I trust in You!
Mom's Prayer Corner
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
Thank you for my children, Lord. I know they are a gift from you. I need your strength and wisdom daily
to train them in the way they should go. Give me patience and a joyful heart. Let me be an example of your love and forgiveness. Thank you for the honor of being a parent.
Amen.
