Lil Steamer Families --
I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween weekend. As a reminder, we have our FES Halloween Parade scheduled for Tuesday, October 31 at 1:45 PM.
Please keep in mind that students will not be permitted to wear costumes that are deemed not school appropriate. There are plenty of appropriate Halloween costumes for students to wear and I want to ensure that our students are feel comfortable and safe while they are at school.
If you have any questions about your child's costume, please contact me.
Happy Halloween!

I would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween. Some tips for Halloween safety:
Ask children to walk slowly and be alert.
Remind children to cross the streets at corners or crosswalks.
Wear comfy shoes.
Check your child’s candy.
Stay well lit. Carry a glow stick or a flashlight.
ART STUDIO UPDATE
We opened the 3D sculpture center!!
If you have boxes at home, have students show you some of the 15 techniques that they learned for building and attaching carboard together.
The great thing about working in centers is that the students that are working on building their skills in all of the centers during our skill builders, but can focus on passion projects. Not every student is creating within the 3D center, but they are all working on creating original artwork, developing their skills, and taking risks in their art.

FES HALLOWEEN PARADE SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 31, 2023 @ 1:45 P.M.
First and foremost, I understand that Halloween means different things to different families. If horror films, scariness, and spooky seasons are your jam - that’s great. But as a public elementary school supporting children as young as age 5, that’s not our jam.
To support all children, I want to be very clear that our Halloween celebration and parade will be school appropriate for all students and families. There are plenty of appropriate costumes for students to wear. A reminder to all parents we will not allow face paint, accessories, or costumes that are inappropriate for school (examples include dressing as horror movie/story characters, bloody/extreme/grotesque costumes, weapons, etc.). If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s costume, please contact Principal Jeffrey Hoese or Assistant Principal Kelli Parsons. We will be taking a very safe and considerate approach.
Weather permitting, the K-5 Halloween Parade will be held at 1:45 PM on the sidewalks outside of the building on Tuesday, October 31, 2023. The path will go from the FES playground, up the hill towards RBMS, and then lap around the RBMS field. In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be held indoors in the hallways for students only.
K, 1st, 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade classroom activities will begin immediately following approximately at 2:00 PM. The 2nd Grade party will be held from 1:00-1:45 PM.
Kindergarten through 5th grade students will have time to change into a costume prior to the parade. Costumes and makeup are not to be worn to school; they will have time before the parade to change.
