Wishing Everyone a Great Winter Recess!

Big picture

Happy Holidays to all from NAPLS

2020 brought us joy, challenges, and opportunities. In the face of adversity and uncertainty this year, we learned the true meaning of Stronger Together. As winter recess officially begins, we celebrate the accomplishments you’ve made so far, and look forward to a new year full of promise and transformation.

As we approach the middle of our school year, please remain strong and continue to persevere to create the best academic and developmental outcomes. We can and will get better everyday. May all of our students, families, staff and community have a joyful, renewing, healthy and safe winter recess. Bring on 2021!

***Please note - Presently, based upon current data and information known, we are scheduled to return to a hybrid school attendance model beginning Monday, January 4, 2021. We will continue to monitor all available data and information during winter recess to update you accordingly should any changes be required. For now, please refer to the tentative January calendar below.

Thank you for supporting the New Albany Food Pantry

A big thank you to our community and all of the volunteers, students and contributors to making the VLP Drive-thru food event and Caroling for Cans event this past weekend so successful. In total the Food Pantry was able to collect over 2,426.4 pounds of food from both events to support the community. Your generosity is appreciated New Albany.

Holiday Traditions just look a little different this year...

Mrs. Bodman, Mrs. Ginnan and Mrs. Schaefer created a community wide gingerbread man hunt all around town for our virtual kindergartners last weekend. They worked with local businesses owners and community helpers, wrote poems and hung up clues around town for a ‘contactless’ gingerbread hunt to mimic what would normally be do at the ELC. Clues led students around town and ended with a gingerbread Cookie and treat bag from the teachers. A local baker baked, decorated and donated the gingerbread for all 120 kids! Thank you for sharing some holiday magic!
