A Special Reminder from our Outstanding Nurses!
Parents:
As we are currently in flu season, please review the attached information from the CDC (Center for Disease Control) regarding the flu - how to prevent it and how to care for your child should they contract the illness. Influenza (also known as flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat and lungs.
Flu symptoms can include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, feeling tired and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea (more common in children than adults). Some people with the flu will not have a fever.
Remember to please keep your child home if they are sick and adhere to the guidelines that state: you should keep your child home from school for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone. (The fever should be gone without the use of a fever-reducing medication). A fever is defined as 100°F (37.8°C) or higher.
If your child is sick, please contact their doctor for advice.
Thank you,
Your SBHS Health Team

Middle States Committee Information!!
Every seven years, the high school goes through an accreditation process through Middle States. This accreditation process is one of the many reasons SBHS is set apart from other local high schools. As we work through the self study this year, we are using the Excellence by Design protocol. As part of the process we are reaching out to stakeholders and asking them to share their opinions about SBHS according to the 12 Middle States standards for accreditation. Thank you in advance for spending 15-20 minutes to complete the following survey so that we can get your input as parents of SBHS students.
