A Time To Be Thankful

We asked some students what they are thankful for, and this is what they had to say.

  • My family ~ Madison
  • Good Health, my parents, family, and having somewhere to live ~ Roberto
  • My family, friends, and my animals ~ Ragan
  • My Family ~ Breanna
  • Jesus, my friends, and family ~ Annelise
  • I am thankful to be healthy and wake up to go to school and have a roof over my head. ~ Ayden
  • Tik Toc ~ Adam

What is Cold Springs thankful for?

  • Our students being able to come back to school.
  • Our teachers.
  • Our health.
  • Our community.

What a finish!

"Amazing end for a girls' team that showed what can happen when you keep God first, love your teammates, and work hard. We are truly blessed with a superintendent, administration, parents, coaching staff, and community that loves and supports us. Last year broke our hearts, but it showed us how to lose with grace and now win with grace." — Cold Springs coach Casey Howell

CSH is proud of these girls and their hard work.

Boys Cross Country

The boys had a great year as well. They finished 3rd in the state 2A championship. The boys were also named sectional champs and county champs. CSH is proud of them and the hard work they put into their sport.

Basketball Season!

Basketball season is here, and we are excited! We are so happy that our students will be able to participate in playing the sport they love. We need your help. Please wear a mask and remember to social distance. Our athletes depend on you to help them be able to play a full season. If we all do our part, we can make this happen.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Meet our Student of the Month, Miss Charlotte Starnes. Charlotte is a senior at Cold Springs. She enjoys helping others. After graduation, she plans to attend college to obtain a degree in counseling.

Charlotte donated over 300 cans of food during our homecoming food drive. Thank you, Charlotte, for your giving heart.

Fun Fact

Snoopy has made the most appearances in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Forty-four years after the first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Snoopy made his debut as a balloon in 1968. Throughout the years, the beagle has had a total of seven balloons, making 39 appearances "on and off through 2015" before he was replaced with Charlie Brown in 2016. He returned as an astronaut for the 2019 parade, bringing his balloon total to eight.

Honor society inducts new members

The Cold Springs National Honor Society induction may have looked a little different than it has in the past, but we are so proud of these deserving, hard-working young men and women. Cold Springs National Honor Society inducted 37 students into the organization. Congratulations!

Teacher Spotlight

Meet Mrs. Carolyn Doss. Mrs. Doss is a graduate of Auburn University, and she also received her master's degree from Troy University. She teaches Geometry, Algebra II, and Algebra II with Trig. Mrs. Doss is also the sponsor of the Algebra II and Comprehensive math team and is the senior class sponsor. She is married to Phillip Doss, who is the pastor at Mt. Grove Congregational Church. She has two children and two wonderful grandchildren.

Between teaching and sponsoring a club and a class, Mrs. Doss enjoys reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She has been teaching for 25 years, and we hope she will spend many more years with us at Cold Springs. Thank you, Mrs. Doss, for being a part of our school.

A word from coach willoughby

We are looking forward to beginning season play in varsity boys basketball. Our team has eight returning players from last year and has added Cody Bales from the JV team last season. We have been practicing hard and are planning on having a great season. Attitudes and effort have been good, and we are ready to return to competition especially after having been unable to have our normal summer playing season. We have many question marks leading into the new season, but all the players and coaches are ready to get it started.
