Condit Elementary Weekly Bulletin
1/22/18
Message from Dr. Malally
I hope that everyone enjoyed a great weekend! I wanted to send a special thank you to Patty Moreno and her group of volunteers that treated our staff to our delicious "Great Gatsby" themed luncheon last week. We all absolutely loved it!
This week we will hold our annual Kindergarten Tour this Friday, January 26th at 8:30 AM in our MPR. If you know of any incoming kindergarteners for the 2018-2019 school year, please share the information about the Tour with them.
Another thing to put on your calendar is our Condit Track Meet. It is coming up on Friday, March 2nd and we will need volunteers to help us out at the field. Our kindergarten through third grade students participate from 8:15 - 9:00 AM, and then the other grade levels participate after their PE times. This event qualifies upper grade students for possible attendance at the Vista del Valle District Track Meet on April 20th.
Parents - Please remember that this year we have alternated our PFA meeting times each month to make sure and accommodate all of our families. January's meeting is today, Monday, January 22nd at 8:30 AM in our MPR. We hope to see you there. Our February meeting will be on Monday, February 26th at 6:00 PM.
Have a WONDERFUL week!
The Great Kindness Challenge is Monday, January 22nd - Friday, January 26th
Condit's Student Council is hosting The Great Kindness Challenge this week, Monday, January 22nd - Friday, January 26th. The Great Kindness Challenge is a PreK-12 initiative that positively transforms school culture through kindness. When a school signs up, they are provided with tools that enable them to dedicate one week to kindness. Armed with a motivating and exciting “checklist” of random acts of kindness, students and educators can participate in the movement by checking off as many items on that list as they can in the span of a week, and transforming their school climate to a safe space for all students. Students will be sent home with copies of the checklist below, depending on grade level. The program is spreading kindness at an impressive scale: in 2017, over 10 million students, 15 thousand schools, and 90 countries committed 500 million acts of kindness. Condit is very excited to be a part of this.
We will celebrate the week with themed days each day:

Tuesday: Peace, Love, Hope and Kindness –Wear 70’s clothing. GROOVY!

Updates to 100 Mile Club in 2017-2018
The last update to 100 Mile Club is the the use of "Guest" sticks this year. We LOVE to have our family members join the 100 Mile Club, and want to include your miles in our school-wide goals. For any person that is not an enrolled student at Condit, we will pass out "Guest" sticks from now on. Students will continue to collect our usual sticks stamped with Condit on them, but the "Guest" sticks will be blue. If you are a family member that plans on joining the 100 Mile Club, please make sure that you are collecting the blue sticks for each lap that you do. Outside events will be credited based on the registration forms that indicate participants name.
*Thank you for your understanding with these changes.
