About Walker Elementary

Dear Walker Families,
Dear Walker Families,
We have two weeks ahead of us in the month of December with several special events during school and after school. Please read over the upcoming dates and mark your calendar to attend. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade will be taking a computer assessment this week called the MAP (Measure of Academic Performance). The data collected from this test will help your child's teacher plan how to best support academic needs. We would like your help to ensure that your child shows all that they know. Please make sure your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast and arrives to school on time each day. We are continuing to have several tardies each morning. The school day begins at 7:45 a.m. Students may be dropped off from 7:15-7:45 a.m. We are needing more students to be dropped off between 7:15-7:30 to help keep our lines from getting backed up. When you drop off your child, please have them unload as soon as you pull up next to the sidewalk of the school. Students arriving later than 7:45 a.m. will be marked tardy and will need a parent to come into the office to sign them in and they will need a tardy slip to take to class. It is important that your child arrives at school on time each day. Thank you for your help in this matter.
Our lost and found is overflowing with coats and jackets. Please write your child's name in jackets, coats, hats or other personal items so that they can be returned if lost.
Thank you,
Mrs. Lynn Ryan, Principal, lryan@sdale.org
Mrs. Carrie Farris, Assistant Principal, cfarris@sdale.org
