First Annual Parent Scheduling Meeting

Monday, February 8th 4:30 - 6:30 pm MHS Commons

Each department will have a few tables in the commons. Faculty may bring textbooks, trade books, syllabus for courses in your department. Signage to identify your department too. All staff will be available to answer questions about the courses in their departments. If you use online classrooms, please bring technology so you are able to demonstrate how parents can find out about assignments and other information. I will have refreshments for parents and staff alike.

Duties for Teachers

We have expanded the support of teachers by teachers this term in the CTE Department. Ms. Hable and Mr. Lavold will be assisting the CTE Faculty in assignments in the field of writing. We already use Faculty in Math across disciplines. If you have a unique way to support other teachers you feel would fit this model, please see Mr. Heesch or myself.

Brain Breaks and Active Learning

Faculty and Administrators from across the district have been involved in active learning strategies that support students with learning disabilities as well as all students. One striking statistic is students can only focus for about 20 minutes before the learning will not have the same statistical impact. Reflect on the number of minutes students sit in your class past twenty minutes. See the video above as Mr. Powless and Mr. Thompson tried a technique the day after the training.

Thank you note to MHS

Hello to all: Just wanted to let all of you know that Sharing Supper would not have been as successful had it not been for all your help. The school has always been so accommodating and we always feel welcome. Brenda was great in the kitchen and the maintenance staff was "Johnny on the spot as usual". The FFA and their "shakes" were a big hit with the crowd and we are looking forward to having the Mr. Hines and the FFA sponsor and help serve at our February sharing supper. Thanks also to coach Winks and the Power Lifters who did a fantastic job of serving supper. I was impressed with their professionalism and their willingness to serve. I am so proud to be apart of a community such as Mauston High School and the caliber of people who are working in and serving this community. Thanks so much to all of you. Will see you in February!
