Please click on the link to share feedback. We started the year with some changes and we want to identify gaps we need to close to better support you and student learning. There are three questions I would like for you to answer. We will share the feedback at our next leadership meeting with your department leaders.
Student Assessments
By now, each subject area should have given a formative assessment. With student mastery as our objective, you are to take those results and during your collaborative meetings with your team, follow the instruction model framework to ask the essential questions that will help guide your next steps.
Administrator Walkthroughs
This week, administrative walkthroughs will focus on the following:
- Adjusts instruction for student needs
- Monitors the quality of student participation
- Recognizes/responds to student disengagement
- Provides differentiated instructional strategies
- Monitors/adjust instruction using student input
- Monitors student behavior for engagement & understanding
- Adjusts instruction/activities to maintain engagement
Uses probing questions to clarify, elaborate learning
- Recognizes/responds to student misunderstandings
- asks questions that focus on objective
- Provides clear explanations
- Uses clear, correct verbal & written communication
- Provides opportunities for the student to communicate
We don't expect to see each element of instruction during a 3-5 minute walkthrough, but we do expect to see elements of instruction that are reflected in Domain II on the TTESS rubric.
