PCMS WEEKLY UPDATE
January 6, 2017
Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a joyful and restful break with your families and loved ones. It was great to see all the students back in school this week, as we had a fantastic (although short) first week back! It didn’t take us long to get back into the swing of things. I’d say by lunchtime on Wednesday, it was as if we had never left! That’s a good thing, because third quarter will be a busy one! Please continue to check your child's planner and your email regularly. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call or send us an email.
2nd Quarter/1st Semester Report Cards
Due to a technical issue with our student information system provider, regular emailed distribution of Second Quarter/1st Semester report cards will be delayed. Report cards were to be sent out to parents today, Jan 6, 2017. Pathfinder Elementary and Platte City Middle School attempted to email report cards to parents this morning, and when several parents did not receive them, we discovered the issue.
We anticipate the issue to be resolved and that report cards will be emailed early next week. We apologize for the delay.
Grades are up to date and can be viewed via Parent Portal. PCMS student report cards can be viewed by clicking on the Grades tab, then Letter Grades.
Student Information Changes/Updates
We understand it is inevitable that changes occur throughout the year. With that being said, it is very important for us to have updated and accurate family information at all times. Please be sure to keep us updated on ALL student information changes, so we can reflect the changes in our system. Some of these changes may include but are not limited to:
Phone number (either parent)*
Emergency Contact (contact person or phone number)*
Residency or address
Email address (either parent)
*The items in bold are especially important, as we have had situations where we had incorrect phone numbers in our system and could not reach parents when necessary. Thanks in advance for your help with this!
Important Note to Current 8th Graders from PCHS Counseling Dept.
As a reminder, PCHS is planning for the 2017-18 school year and would like to invite you and your 8th grade student to attend Curriculum Night ~ Mon, Jan 9 at 6:30pm* held in the PCHS Wilson Auditorium.
We encourage both students and parents to attend Curriculum Night, so that all can receive the information about courses which are offered at Platte County High School. This will greatly assist you and your student in the planning process and in course selection for the 2017-18 school year.
*Please note: Curriculum Night for current 8th graders remains scheduled for Jan 9. The night which was rescheduled and mentioned in the Snow Day text message was pertaining to current Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors.
