Annual Diocesan Survey

Our school is always trying improve its ability to serve our mission. As part of the improvement process, we annually collect survey data from our stakeholder groups (parents, staff, and students). Your opinion about the performance of our school is important to us and so we ask that you click on the link below and take the time to complete this important survey. The survey was designed by AdvancEd, our accreditation association, that serves public and non-public schools.

Some items on the survey use ‘school leadership’. When you see ‘school leadership’, you should think of the principal. Some items use ‘school governing body’. When you see ‘school governing body’, you should think of the ‘Pastor and Principal’ as a team.

Thanks for giving your time in completing this important survey and giving us an opportunity to learn and grow!

Open House

Do you have any friends or family with school age children who might be interested in learning more about St. Patrick School? Please encourage them to attend our first ever "Lunch and Learn Open House" where they will receive a free lunch and an opportunity to hear about all the great things happening at St. Patrick ECC and School. This event is for prospective ECC and school families only and will be a time when parents can hear about our school, ask questions, and take a tour while their children experiment with STEM activities. Best of all - it's 100% free and requires no commitment or obligation on the prospective families part!

Interested people can email me at to reserve their spot for lunch! If you'd be willing to hand out postcards to friends and family, just let me know and I can send some home with your child.

Remember, there is a $200 Registration credit to any current registered family who brings a new family to enroll at St. Patrick School!

Flat Bishop Johnston Contest: Catholic Schools Week 2020

To celebrate Catholic Schools week this year our diocesan schools will focus on “Growing God’s Family” (the theme from the new vision statement for the Diocese of Kansas City – St. Joseph) and “Our Family” (the theme from the 2019‐20 school year). To do this the Catholic Schools office (CSO) is asking each student/family to take a photo with Flat Bishop Johnston.

Photos should include the family and Flat Bishop doing something together, preferably faith related. Some examples are:

 Eating together as a family

 Saying the rosary

 Attending Mass or prayer service

 Reading the bible

 Other Family activity

After you have taken your family photo, email the photo to

Photos will only be accepted between January 20th and January 30th at noon. Only one photo per student will be accepted. Multiple students in one family can be submitted in one photo/email, be sure to list all student names and grades in the email.

Looking for Alumni

We are going to begin an "Alumni Spotlight" each month on our website and social media pages. In order to do this, we need to get in contact with some of our St. Patrick School alumni! Do you have a child who graduated from St. Patrick School? Do you know anyone who has graduated?

Please share the Alumni Survey with any St. Patrick alumni you know, so we can reach out for an Alumni Spotlight interview! You will find the survey link below.

Parent Volunteers

Each year, we struggle with gathering up enough parent volunteers to make all the great things we do in our school possible. It seems that most times, the same parents show up over and over again until they eventually burn out. Then, we find ourselves in a bind looking for the next group of parents who are willing to jump in.

I'm a mother of four. I get it. I don't have the time or energy to volunteer at my child's school for every single event he has. However, I can do "some" things that don't necessarily require me to be there all the time.

We really need our parent volunteers in order to keep doing the fun filled events that create the family atmosphere that St. Patrick is famous for having. I'm asking you to give some thought about how you can volunteer your time to our school.

Maybe joining the School Advisory Council is something in which you'd be interested. Our council currently has openings and we are looking for people who are willing to jump in, help determine the needs of our school, and work hard to ensure those needs are met. Meetings are only held once per quarter, and most other communication is done via email.

One of the easiest ways to volunteer is to start by attending a PTO meeting. Our next meeting is January 14th at 6:00pm. At the meeting, you can hear about all the great things the PTO does for our school and you can find different ways to volunteer that really won't take up much of your time! Plus, you'll be able to make connections with other parents, share ideas, and build a stronger connection with school.

We are constantly in need of getting the word out about what a hidden gem St. Patrick School is and engaging the community to enroll more students in our ECC and in our school. Perhaps you'd be willing to take a stack of flyers to your child's dance or baseball practice. Maybe you'd be willing to talk to people in your neighborhood and invite them to come take a tour of the school.

If you're attending mass each week, maybe you'd be willing to sit at a table in the gathering space to talk to parishioners about St. Patrick School and invite them to come take a tour. It's a great way to meet more people and spread the word about the unique opportunity tithing parishioners have to send their child to our school.

Whatever or however you are willing to help, please know that you are needed! It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a small army to maintain the high standards of community that we have at St. Patrick School.

If you are willing to volunteer, please attend the PTO meeting on January 14. If you're unable to attend, but are interested in any of the other ideas (or have an idea of your own) feel free to send me an email at and I will put you in touch with the people who can help you find a way to get involved!

2020-2021 Registration is Coming!

Believe it or not, registration time is upon us. Next month, you will receive your registration packet with different options for paying registration fees. This is also a great time to invite friends, family, neighbors, and more to come take a tour of our school!

Do you know someone with an incoming kindergarten student? Why not set up a "shadow" day where that student joins our kindergarten for a couple of hours to get a full experience of kindergarten at St. Patrick School?

We know that the best marketing is word of mouth, and we appreciate our families who are out there encouraging others to check us out! Remember, if you invite a family to visit our school and then end up enrolling, you receive a $200 discount on your registration fees!

St. Patrick School

The mission of St. Patrick School is to develop young men and women with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. Encouragement is given to students to bring their lives into conformity with God's will and plan, so that He is glorified.
