By: Kira Zeinert
What do people do in this career??
Floral designers, also called florists, cut and arrange live, dried, or silk flowers and greenery to make decorative displays. They also help customers select flowers, containers, ribbons, and other accessories. To make their bouquet and the room light up.(figuratively speaking)
Why did you chose this career???
I chose this career because any time I look in a flower shop window I think to myself WOW I wish I could plant beautiful flowers like those. I also love to plant flowers in the Spring and Fall with my grandma.

Something I found interesting about the career is...
Most floral designers work in retail businesses, usually in flower shops or grocery stores. About 31 percent of floral designers were self-employed in 2010.
Floral design is the art of using plant materials and flowers to create a pleasing and balanced composition. Evidence of refined Floristry is found as far back as the culture of Ancient Egypt. Professionally designed floral designs, arrangements or artwork incorporate the elements of floral design: Line, Form, Space, Texture and Color and the Principles of Floral Design: Balance, Proportion, Rhythm, Contrast, Harmony and Unity.
