By: Kira Zeinert

What do people do in this career??

Floral designers, also called florists, cut and arrange live, dried, or silk flowers and greenery to make decorative displays. They also help customers select flowers, containers, ribbons, and other accessories. To make their bouquet and the room light up.(figuratively speaking)

Why did you chose this career???

I chose this career because any time I look in a flower shop window I think to myself WOW I wish I could plant beautiful flowers like those. I also love to plant flowers in the Spring and Fall with my grandma.

What branch of science most of this career falls under??

Life science because it deals with flowers which are living things. That get picked or cut from the ground to make women happy with their mate. Flower bouquets are given on Birthday's, Valentine's day, and just for tokens of affection.

Something I found interesting about the career is...

Most floral designers work in retail businesses, usually in flower shops or grocery stores. About 31 percent of floral designers were self-employed in 2010.
