All About Magnets
Magnetic Force
Magnetic forces either attract or repel. A magnetic force is produced when magnetic poles interact. The area of magnetic forces around a magnet is known as magnetic field.
Magnetic Field
There is a stronger magnetic field when the magnets are closer together. There is a weaker magnetic field when the magnets are further away from each other. The closer the field lines are, indicates the strength of the magnetic field.
Magnetic Properties
The three properties are 1) attract iron; 2) materials that contain iron; and 3) magnets can attract or repel other magnets. The two types of magnetic poles are North and South. Magnetic poles that are unlike, attract each other. Magnetic poles that are alike, repel each other.
