Hard drive/SSD
A hard drive solid state drive stores a devices operating system and software. The SSD is smaller, much quicker and has no moving parts but is more expensive, but basically does the same thing. There are two different types of moniters. These are CRT or TFT. Telling the difference is straight forward; CRT screens are large and heavier units whilst the TFT are thin and light in weight. The CRT moniters are older.
Optical drive
An optical drive reads information from a DVD, CD or a Blue Ray and can sometimes write information on to blue Rays
Moniter
The moniter is the part of the computer that displays the picture on the screen. They can sometimes be touchscreen. All phones, tablets computer etc.
CPU
The CPU (central processing unit),more commonly called processer, the CPU is the brains of the computer where most calculations take place. In my opinion the CPU is the most important piece of hardware in the computer because controls everything and is the brain of the computer.
RAM
Random access memory (RAM) is the best known form of computer memory. RAM is considered random access because you can access any memory cell directly if you know the row and column that it is located. If you want to know how to replace your RAM then watch this video at http://videos.howstuffworks.com/computer/ram-videos-playlist.htm#video-49
