TOP STORY: Miss Nelson is Missing!
Join H-F Theatre for this year's children's show, Miss Nelson is Missing!, based on the beloved children’s book of the same name! Miss Nelson (Emma Leak) can't control her crazy classroom because she's just too nice. But when she disappears, her replacement is the hard-as-nails, detention-loving, recess-canceling, homework-overloading substitute teacher Viola Swamp! With the big test approaching, the kids suddenly realize how much they miss Miss Nelson and they'll do anything — including hiring a private eye, Detective McSmogg (Maleeyah Daggett) — to solve the mystery of her disappearance and bring her back.
Opening night is tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 29) at 7 p.m. in the Mall Auditorium! Additional shows are 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, and 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. Tickets ($10/adult, $5/student/senior) are available now online. Click here to reserve your seats today!
The cast also features: Cayden Speerbrecker (Principal Humleker); Langston Fantroy (Raymond); Savannah Howard (George Jorgenson, Jr.); Flan Marak (Morris/Mouse); Sam Bouyer (Elvis); Avery Calhoon (Phoebe); Charisma Boler (LaVita); and Moira Michel (Kimberly). Student production assistants are Marissa Diaz, Stella Hoyt, Sullivan Matthys, Gabe McKinney, Tessa O’Keefe and Amy Ward. The play is directed by Mrs. Calderon, H-F English & Fine Arts teacher.

It was a very spirited Homecoming Week at H-F last week with record-breaking attendance at the dance on Saturday and a sold-out Football game on Friday. On Thursday, students and staff gathered for the first outdoor pep rally since 2017 at H-F Stadium. Above, Math teacher Mr. Lowe was honored with a water dump for raising the most funds for breast cancer awareness. Below, our student section at the game was filled with red and white and Hawaiian wear for the final spirit day of the week. Vikings Serving the Community
Helping at Homewood Science Center
During a busy Homecoming weekend, some of our Vikings — Occie Ellis, Kevin Gibek, Fatima Hernandez, Emma Leak & Maleko Myers — made time to volunteer at the Homewood Science Center, where they led visiting grade schoolers and preschoolers through fun STEM activities. They were joined by their teacher, Mrs. White, and D233 Board of Education member Cynthia Turnquest. Great job, Vikings!
