Atlantis Space Mission
These is a presentation about the Atlantis space mission
Here is picture of the crew that flew the Atlantis shuttle.
The shuttle took off on October 13 1985 and everyone on the ship was really excited when they got in space.
By the end of its final mission, Atlantis had orbited the Earth 4,848 times, traveling nearly 126,000,000 mi (203,000,000 km) in space or more than 525 times the distance from the Earth to the Moon. So the spun around the earth and the moon a lot of times when they came back to the Earth
Heres a picture of the ship its self. If you look closely you can see the parts of it
Way back in November of 1985, on just its second mission, Atlantis experienced a blow-back of hot gases past the primary O rings in one of its solid rocket boosters, resulting in serious erosion of said O-ring. NASA noticed the problem, but didn't recognize the danger three months later a similar O ring failure led to the loss of the Challenger and her crew. Three years later during STS-27, Atlantis' heat shield sustained severe damage from a piece of insulation that broke off of the right solid rocket booster during launch.
Here is a video too watch. Its mainly just showing what they did in space when the shuttle reached the space station.
