Principal's Corner
Dear Slate Hill Families,
Thank you to our AMAZING Slate Hill PTA, all of the parent volunteers, the food trucks, our DJ (one of our parents) and our Worthington grounds department (hayride) for a fun-filled Slate Hill PTA Fall Fun Fest. It was obvious from the smiles on everyone's faces that all of our Slate Hill Star families had a wonderful time.
One of our key building expectations is for our Slate Hill Stars to be active and engaged learners. We are quickly approaching our first reward party, and our students are working hard to follow our expectations to earn their points to attend. Students that do not earn their points will be participating in a lesson on reteaching our Slate Hill expectations.
Also, our parent teacher conferences are coming up the week of October 17th. I want to encourage all families to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher. We value your partnership in your child's learning and this is a great opportunity to learn ways to support your child at home with their education.
Below are some pictures from Fall Fun Fest! Also, here is the most recent newsletter from WABFE.

Counselor's Corner
Now that we are a couple months into the year, our students are growing more than ever! With this growth, it's never too early to start looking for the signs of puberty. The attached article outlines 6 tips for teaching your child about good hygiene routines including a discussion about their bodies changing, odor developing, and hair growing.
If you need any additional resources, please feel free to reach out to me or our nurse, Ms. Keathley (mkeathley@wscloud.org).
