Campus Involvement


Are you interested in helping select the next class of PLP students? Apply to be a PLP Recruiter! The deadline for applications is tomorrow, Thursday September 10th at 5pm!

Student Director Applications

If you are of Junior standing and are passionate about Orientation, apply to be a Student Director! There are six positions available, and we are seeking individuals who possess a high level of initiative, professional demeanor, strong organizational skills; the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; excellent communication skills; and ability to provide exemplary leadership for their peers. Check out the link above for informational sessions. Applications are due on September 25, 2015 at noon. Contact Katie Johnston at if you have questions!

CNU Engage Week & Volunteer Fair 9/7-11

Wednesday: Newport News Public Schools and Youth Development

Thursday: Hunger & Housing and International Interest

Friday: Volunteer Fair from 12pm-2pm in Freeman Center Auxiliary Gym


If you are interested in the Newport News Public Schools or Youth Development tracks, today is your lucky day! There is a Volunteer Interest Meeting for these tracks from 3-4pm in the Crow's Nest. *This is an approved Passport Destination!

Denbigh Day

Are you looking for a chance to get a jump start on you service hours? Come out to the 56th Annual Denbigh Day! This is a parade and festival celebrating the history of Denbigh. We need 10 volunteers on Friday, September 18th from 8-4pm, and 10 volunteers on Saturday, September 19th. Contact Steph at ASAP if you are interested!

Study Abroad

If you recently returned from a study abroad trip, check your email! You should have an email from Becca about Globetrotters (If you did NOT receive an email from Becca, email her at immediately please!). Please fill out the post-trip survey and indicate when you are free for a large group meeting! Becca added additional times, so please update your availability.

9/24/15 at 7:30pm - Madeleine Albright (Third and Fourth years only)
10/5/15 at 8:00pm - Molly and George Greene (All PLP Students)

Don't forget to request some of your organization's activities as potential Passport Destinations. (Remember, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors must attend four each year. Freshmen, one of these must be a Center for Career Planning approved Passport Destination.)

Reminder - don't skip class for PLP events!

You're a student first. If you have a PLP event that conflicts with a class, please don't ask your professors to leave class early. Let PLP know in advance and we will either work with you to accommodate when you get out of class or we will excuse you from the event.
