Summer Reading
Top Picks from Mrs. Bobo - All SC Book Award Nominees for 2022- 2023
Have you ever done an escape room challenge? In this story several teens are locked in at a local restaurant, but the challenge is real and could cost them their lives. This random group of classmates have to figure out how to get out alive. Will they need to choose someone to die?
The Firekeepers Daughter by Angeline Boulley
Daunis Fontaine, half Ojibwe, half white, has put her dreams on hold to care for her mother after a family tragedy. She witnesses a murder and winds up getting involved as an undercover agent. This story has it all, suspense, danger, love, family, and tribal traditions. This is one of the best books I have read in a while.
The Ravens by Kass Morgan and Danielle Paige
College sororities seem like fun and Vivi Deveraux is excited to be in college and away from her erratic, palm reader of a mother. She quickly gets pulled into Kappa Rho Nu, only to find that it isn't quite like other sororities - they're a coven of witches. Vivi pledges and she and her big sister, Scarlett, find themselves neck deep in blood oaths and betrayals.
Check out all of the books pictured below. Can you read at least 3 of them this summer?
Would you rather listen to a great book?
I use Sora on my phone, which makes it easy to use when I am driving, doing chores, and exercising. If you need to learn how to access Sora on your phone, here are the directions. You'll find lots of print and audiobooks from your school library as well as the Charleston County Library.
How do I sign up for Summer Reading?
Here are the flyers to help you get logged in.
