Weekly Message
Dear Raleigh Hills Families and Community,
Wow! That dance assembly was amazing. I was glad to experience my first dance assembly with our community today. It was so nice to be surrounded by supportive parents and community members while our students showed their talent. I am including links to the videos below so that those of you who were not able to make it can still enjoy the show. The videos may take some time to load so if they aren't there by the time you get this, keep checking back. Thanks to Mrs. Shier for filming and thank you to our wonderful music and PE staff for putting this together. And thanks to Mr. Anderson for his surprise appearance!
I'd like to welcome Mr. Jim Healy to the staff. He will be filling in for Mrs. Wierdsma until her return. He is a former assistant principal at several high schools, but most recently Southridge. He will be a great addition to our team. Here's a message from Jim:
Thank you all so much for the warm welcome you've given me. I am happy to be a part of such a great group, and I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you better over the coming weeks. Schools are wonderful places, and I can already tell that Raleigh Hills is a great learning community, one where you put kids first and believe that all students can learn. I want to support your work and strive to maintain a positive, safe, and caring environment. Again, thank you for the warm welcome.
Our Principal Coffees are at 8:30 and 9:00 on Monday. Hope to see you there!
Warm regards,
Jennifer

Recess News
- Many balls are being kicked onto the roof or over the fences leaving very few balls for us at recess. We recently placed an order for many more balls to replace those we've lost. Please talk to your students about helping us to keep the balls in the RH playground.
- Since we have placed that new order, there is no longer a need to bring balls to school. Please keep them at home. When students bring their own in causes problems at recess and also in the cafeteria.
- The hill between the bark chips and the track is becoming an attraction in the rain. Many students are going down the hill to chase a ball or just for fun. The office is completely out of dry clothes for students to change into when they fall and get muddy. Talk to your student about using the path to get from the bark to the track. And if your student has borrowed clothes from the office, please return them so we can replenish our supply.
We appreciate your help in keeping our recesses and lunches safe and dry!

Immunization Exclusion Day
State law requires that all children in public and private schools, preschools, Head Start and certified child care facilities have up-to-date immunizations, or have a medical or nonmedical exemption.
Parents or guardians will receive a letter in early February if their child’s immunization record shows that he or she has not received the required vaccinations. Children will not be able to attend school or childcare starting February 19, 2020, if their records on file show missing immunizations.
