We Need to Conserve Water!

Water Distribution
Water is distributed to many places. Most of the water on Earth is salt water with only 1 percent freshwater that is easily used. Many people may ask why not just filter the saltwater to make it fresh. However, it is complicated, expensive and unpractical. Usable water generally comes from local rivers and lakes. For example, California and other states use the Colorado river as their prime water resource.
Water Usage
A leaky toilet can use 200 gallons of water a day. That's a lot. Also, one American family of four uses 400 gallons a day. That could be you. Think about it: you might be using 100 gallons of water a day. Also, 20,000,000 gallons to 46,000,0000 gallons of water is distributed to California per day Many people think that washing dishes by hand uses more water than the dishwasher, but it really does not. If you are washing many dishes at a time, then the dishwasher is for you. They are even making low water using dishwashers that still get the job done. So conserve that water!

Water Conservation Practices
Water conservation is an important thing. We can conserve water by installing low flow toilets, shower heads, and faucets. To fix that leaky toilet, drop a drop of food coloring into the back and if the water seeps into the bowl, you have a leek. You could then call a local handyman to fix the problem. Also, you should turn off the tap when you are brushing your teeth. This will help save a lot of water. When you drop that runaway ice cube on the floor and are about to throw it away, think again. You are wasting that poor cube. You should thow the ice cube in the plants so your cube will not die in vain.
