Special Friends Day is fast approaching. We are in the planning process now. At this time it will be much like last year. The day will begin with Baptismal Remembrance chapel at Flatrock at 7:50am and culminate with lunch at about 11am. In between will be lots of fun activities, which will all occur at the Flatrock campus again this year.

This is also the final day for our food drive. Special friends and other adults are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to school that day for the offering. The food will go to St. Marks and St Joe Hessen Cassell food banks as has been the case in the past.

Please note that you will need to show that ticket to get your lunch this year. Tickets will be available for pick up after chapel for those who ordered and paid for them.

Last Call for Coupon Books!!!

We are down to just a few Coupon Books available. Please consider purchasing one for yourself or as a Christmas gift for just $25. Do you ever shop at Dick’s Sporting Goods? If so, using just 1 or 2 of the Dick’s coupons instantly pays for the book and you still have the opportunity to save thousands more with all the other retailers, businesses and restaurants who participate. Again, this fundraiser will help send our 8th graders to Washington D.C. in the spring. Please contact me if interested.

Wick's Pie Delivery

Thank You for all the Wick’s pie orders received! The pies will be delivered to the St. John Flatrock campus on Monday, November 19th – with pick-up starting at 2:30 pm. Thank You from the SJE 8th grade class

Carnival Update

The school carnival is still 5 months away but will also be here before we know it. I(Stephanie Foster), your carnival chairman have been working almost every day getting things organized and getting donations in. We have had several donations come in already so if you would like to check out those donations make sure you go to the SJE Community Spring Carnival & Silent Auction page. Sign-ups for the carnival have also been created so if you still would like to get volunteer hours this will be the last event to do so.

Also even if you have your hours in please still consider volunteering to make this event successful. Last thing if you know of any family members or friends that would like to sign up and volunteer please let one of the committee members know.

Food Drive Has Begun

Our annual food drive began Thursday, November 1st. All chapel offerings will go to purchase food for the food banks. This year, the campus that earns the most "paws" for donations receives the new traveling trophy posted on Facebook AND a popcorn/movie party on a date chosen by that faculty.

The food banks benefited again this year are St Mark's in Monroeville and Hessen Cassell. My prayer is that all will be generous to help those in our community less fortunate than us. Thank you!

Toy Drive Has Begun!

Our annual Toys for Tots Toy Drive began last Thursday and runs until December 7th. Please consider donating a new toy for a child.

Volunteering at SJE

Please note the info in bold below and see where you might be able to help/volunteer.

**Please note that your volunteer hours this year (18-19) will reduce or eliminate up to $400 of the tuition increase/student set for the 19-20 school year.***

The Lutheran SGO for SJE

It's that time again to have a conversation about our SGO. We have many families that have filled out applications requesting funds to assist with their school tuition. This is a great way to help them. It allows the donor to donate funds to the SGO and receive a 50% Indiana state tax credit. If your donation is large enough, you can carry it over up to 8 tax years. Our need this year as of now is $19,500.00, of which we already have $2000.00. Please consider giving. There are so many ways to do so and more are coming in early 2019. Please visit the website for more info.
