Tacata Takes Home County EoY - Will Represent PHS at State
Big up congrats to Phil Tacata for being selected as the California League of High Schools Sonoma County Educator of the Year! We are all proud of him. Below in his own words...
"Just wanted to say thank you to all the folks who came out to the Teacher of the Year Ceremony in Healdsburg the other night... Many of my friends and family travelled far to get out there (Denver, Portland, Merced, the City) and my crazy super-colleagues bounced out of a staff meeting early and sat in traffic for an hour+ to make it. At the end of the night, I was honored with the title, "Region 1 - Sonoma County Teacher of the Year for 2018." Pretty cool :) But not as cool as being blessed to have these people in my life.
I am a teacher in the greatest school in the greatest community in the heart of the North Bay. I don't take it for granted. And I am a very lucky man."
Holiday Cheer Gift Card Drive!
Join us in blessing students from Petaluma High School who are in foster care, are classified as homeless or who are socio-economically challenged. Our goal is to get 50 gift cards that will be given to the counseling department to share with these students.
The best gift cards are for Amazon, Target, Visa, Peet's, Jamba Juice, Cold Stone Creamery, In-n-Out, Converse - anything like that! Please know that ANY amount is great. Gift cards will be combined to assure that all the students will have a bright Christmas.
Please drop the gift cards off at Petaluma High School front office in an envelope that says Mrs. Jackson. Let them know it is for the Holiday Cheer program as there is a designated envelope for these gift cards. You can drop them off anytime between now andDecember 7th. Let’s show some extra love and kindness to these amazing students.
If you are on board for this holiday mission, please comment “dropping gift card off”!
Thank you
Brenda Martin & Corrie Williams
