COMMITTEE UPDATES
The following Committees are open for the 2016-2017 school year:
Family Fun Committee
– This committee organizes and runs various family events throughout the school year (though outside of school/work hours), encouraging positive family/school interaction. Activities in the past have included: Ice cream socials, movie night, bingo, picnic on the playground, mother/son event, father/daughter dance, Trenton Thunder night, etc. Volunteers plan & organize each event.
Fall Fundraiser
– Our active fundraiser is the most important one of the year as it generates the majority of funds to sponsor activities throughout the school year. The chair will be responsible for sending out our donation letters/forms and, along with the co-treasurer, collecting and tracking donations.
Kutz Kapers
– We would love to bring this back for the 2016-2017 school year! This committee organizes a variety of after school programs/classes for a 6-week period in the spring. In the past classes have included things like cooking, karate, pottery, scrapbooking, yoga, Zumba, knitting, legos, photography, and even sign language. We have had parents, teachers, and vendors teaching these classes
Please let the Home and School board know if you are interested in running any of these committees. Thank you for your support :)

As I am sure most of you know by now, Dominic Liples, a 2nd grader at Kutz, underwent brain surgery on Wednesday, March 9 at CHOP to remove a tumor found on his brain. He will start concurrent radiation and chemo in early April.
Much of the community has banded together around this brave boy and his wonderful family. We have created a t-shirt for the Kutz community to support Dominic and the Liples family. Seeing people wear the shirt will hopefully lift Dominic’s spirits. All proceeds from the t-shirts will go directly to the Liples Family. If you would like to order one, please fill out the order form below and return it to school by April 1.

NEW FAMILIES
Are you new to Kutz or CBSD and having difficulty navigating our school or district? The Hospitality Committee is here to help! Please contact April Masterson (atmaster12@gmail.com) and a Kutz Parent “Buddy” or “Ambassador” will be in contact to answer any questions you might have.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer behavioral issues. Involvement at the school also makes it easier to establish connections with staff and other parents. We believe that the time you give in our school community will be well worth your time. Volunteering need not be a huge time commitment. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, time, and talents are truly needed. We have positions and tasks to fit all schedules and interests.
Check out our committees and let us know whether a program, event, or activity interests you.

BUDGET
