M-STEP TESTING--PROHIBITED MATERIALS AND PRACTICES

The state of Michigan has strict guidelines relating to M-Step testing. On testing dates, there can be NO electronic communication devices in the testing room. This includes:

cell phones

smart watches

e-readers

calculators

tablets

music players

voice recorders

anything that is not UCS issued electronics for the specific use of assessment

If a student were to have a smart watch on during testing, this HAS to be reported to the state of Michigan and that student's test will be marked VOID. This could also jeopardize the test results of other students in the class.

Prohibited Behaviors during testing:

  • Interfering with other students taking the test
  • Communicate or collaborate in any manner with another student. This includes written, electronic, verbal, or gestured forms of communication
  • Intentionally disrupt other students taking the test.

If a student engages in Prohibited Behaviors, the incident MUST be reported to the state of Michigan and the student's test could be marked invalid. Prohibited behaviors could also impact the testing results of other students in the class. Students who engage in Prohibited Behaviors are also subject to discipline per UCS Policy 5100.

WHAT TO BRING ON TESTING DATES
