READING LOGS

THINK AND SHARE

How do you do your Reading at Home Check? Is it a Reading Log of minutes? Does it include what is being read? Do students discuss with you, or with one another what they are reading at home? What is the best way to:

1. Have children read at home.

2. Have them view reading as a positive thing?

3. Share with you what they are reading?

4. Help them become better readers with this practice?

Talk with your teams and share what you use and why.

LUNCH IN THE LIBRARY

Traveling between buildings has me missing those little ones when I am away. Like you, I always wish there was more time to visit with the kids and share with them new books and reading goals. I want to inspire them to be lifelong readers. With time crunches, I thought it would be so fun to have "Lunch in the Library". Every Tuesday and Thursday I would like one student from each class to come and enjoy lunch in the library and time to share books and love of reading. I will bring slips to you next week and explain more! Also, starting in January we will have Teacher Lunch in the Library!
