CARLSON COURIER
Champions Under Construction
Last Day for these is April 14th
Upcoming Important Dates
Greetings Champions,
I hope your weekend is going well. Well another productive week for the Champions. On Monday we witnessed the excellence of our 5th and 6th graders at the District Elementary track meet hosted by Perry High School. Our Champions went out and gave it their all. Making it to this event is a feat in and of itself so we want recognize all of our competitors for this achievement. Below you will see some pics from the meet and even a few that took home the gold! A big shout out to Mrs. Hendricsen and Mrs. Diaz for leading our team to an impressive showing but most importantly instilling confidence in our students and helping them compete in a sport many did for the very first time. Then, on Tuesday we switched out of sport mode and jumped right into the first phase of state testing which was the writing portion. We are so proud of how well our 3rd - 6th graders performed. We know they tried hard and did their very best in true Champion fashion. Well done students and a special thank you to all of their teachers for their hard work preparing them.
Coming up this week, we take a break from testing to regroup and prepare for the next phase and that is reading and math. Again, students in 3rd - 6th grade will be taking these on April 18th (Reading) and 20th (math). Please avoid scheduling any appointments during the school day that might interfere with testing. Also this week, 3rd grade heads over to the Casa Grande Ruins to learn about Arizona's History. 5th grade is fleeing the coupe to take on Biz Town. Best of luck to all of you as you get a sneak peek at what it takes to run a city and hold real jobs. And on Wednesday after school in the media center we will be having our PTO general meeting. Please join us to hear about the upcoming carnival and other activities and plans for the school. If you are interested in joining or helping out in any capacity we sure could use your help. Thanks for considering. Also, on Wednesday we have another Birthday Book Club if your student is interested in attending just reach out to their teacher or Mrs. Williams in the library.
p.s. our PTO has been hard at work behind the scenes to bring you the Greatest Show Spring Carnival. Wristbands are on sale now so be sure yours as soon as possible. (see the flyer below for more details).
Have a great week everyone!
Gratefully,
Mr. Morgan
