Welcome to Week 16
Greetings Clinton Valley Families,
Welcome to the last full week before break! We have a LOT going on this week! We are in the process of testing the growth that your child has made so far this year in reading so that we can make sure that they placed in the correct intervention groups. We are also celebrating winter and the holidays in different ways around the school. Please let your child's teacher know if they are not able to participate in holiday related activities.
The twelve days of Holiday Spirit continues this week! Our winter concert for grades, one, three, and four is this Tuesday, and we are so excited to watch the students perform. Doors open at 5:45. Enter through DOOR 10 by the gym. Students will report to the cafeteria to get ready to perform at 6. Space may be tight so please make room for everyone by not saving empty seats in between families. This is our first time performing in a LONG time, so please be patient! Students will need to be signed out from classrooms after the performance. I will communicate the locations at the end of the show. Please come and stay for the whole show, as we will have all grade levels together to perform the final song!
Lastly, we will be celebrating the Cardinal Crawl fundraiser again by having the movie, popcorn, sweet treat party this Friday at 2:00. The list of students will be sent to their teachers so that they know whether to attend. This party is for those students who raised at least $30 in donations. We have 119 students attending!
We look forward to all of the fun!
Sincerely,
Kristin Doyle

Art Announcement
Thank you all so much for participating in the Square 1 Art fundraiser this year. We were able to raise $1968.55! That means we'll be receiving a little over $300 for our Art program, and we'll be able to purchase all new paintbrushes for our students. Again, thank you and we can't wait to see what our artists create with these new supplies!

Lunch Procedures
We do have specific procedures that we are still working on implementing. Students must stay in their seats at all times and be at a voice level 2 or lower. This means that any form of yelling or screaming is not permitted. It can get very loud in the cafeteria, so we will continue to remind them to keep the noise levels down. There have been instances where we had to implement a level 0 (no talking) and a level 1(whispering) so that they understand the difference.
Additionally, we are working on making sure that those who go through the lunch line, get everything that they need in order to avoid going back. For safety purposes, we do not want them traveling back and forth from their seats. Therefore, soon, we will not permit it. Instead, we will have a traveling basket for those who need additional items. We have been working on this for an entire month. We also understand that the littler ones may need more practice with this, but ultimately, we would like everyone to stay seated for the entire 30 minutes.
