SD Met Family Updates

Met Up this Friday, February 9
What to know:
This Friday, February 9, is our next MetUp, and we have planned our first Service Learning Day for students: Kindness Day. Our Met students and staff will spend the day out in the community supporting organizations in making positive change. We have partnered with 8 community organizations and students now know which group they are assisting.
The 8 service learning opportunities have different start and end times on Friday, and students are asked to go directly to that organization’s location instead of coming to school first. They should also be picked up from that location at the end of the day.
Please check in with your student today to find out which location they have been assigned, what time it begins and what time it ends. Additionally, some of the organizations require a waiver form to be signed by parents and submitted on Friday or virtually. A school field trip permission form is also required for the off-campus sites.
We are looking forward to having our students learn about some of the many service opportunities available to them, and we hope they take away a powerful message about the impact they can make directly on their community. Please support and encourage your students to participate in this MetUp.

Please note the new location of the Red Cross shelter at Balboa Park Municipal Gym. In addition, anyone who needs flood-related support can call the San Diego Unified Health and Wellness Hotline at 760-334-7878 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Information and resources are also available 24/7 by calling 2-1-1 or visiting 211San Diego online. If you or anyone you know in our Met community is in need of support, please direct them to these resources and reach out to Met staff so we can assist.
