New Member Coordinator Resources
The new, New Member Coordinator unit-level volunteer position has moved into high- speed launch throughout the BSA. Be sure to share all of the training and marketing information available for this game-changing position with your Membership Team.
The NMC webpage is full of helpful information, including:
-
 Brief NMC introductory video
-
 Printable brochure handout with position description
-
 PowerPoint presentation
-
 NMC welcome course instructions for My.Scouting
-
 Marketing assets, including business card templates, NMC welcome logo in
embroidery format, and the downloadable June Cubcast podcast
-
 NMC incentives and recognition plan
-
 NMC district-level Recognition Report Form
Having at least one NMC (a unit can have multiple NMCs) in every traditional unit/Exploring post/club would result in more than 100,000 NMCs! What a difference this would make in creating sustained membership growth in every community, allowing us to reach new members and families throughout the BSA.

It's not to early to be thinking about FOS for 2018. It is just around the corner.
Be thinking about who your contact will be and who will be doing your presentation.
Also, be sure to get your presentations on your units calendar!

What is Wood Badge? Why Should I Register?
Wood Badge is, first and foremost, learning by doing. Participants in the course are formed first into a Pack, bridge over into a Troop, and finally are inducted into a Venturing Crew, just as Scouts move up through the Scouting program. The courses are open to all adult Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venturing leaders and district and council volunteers that have completed Basic Training for their position and are capable of handling the hectic, physically demanding course schedule.
Every scout deserves a trained leader!

Program - Highland Games at Camp Tahuaya
As you may recall, every year I coordinate a little event called Highland Games at Tahuaya for 600 to 800 Scouts and Scouters.
First I want to invite you and your Boy Scout, Venturing and Varsity Units to the event, but as with any volunteer organization, I need volunteers.
The dates are November 10-12 and if you have not been, it is a great event, made great by all the volunteers.
If you would like to help, drop me a line or call me (817-262-9500) to discuss how you can help make another wildly successful Longhorn Council Highland Games.
