MAP ASSESSMENTS
Preview Videos to help students warm-up
Dear Parents,
During the week of August 31 - September 18th your child will take the Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) assessment. We give students MAP tests to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of reading/language arts and math. FPCS will be using MAP assessment in place of AIMSweb and will be taken three times during the school year (Fall, Winter, and Spring).
Results of this assessment will not be used as part of your child’s grade. Sponsor Teachers will share the results with you (the parent/guardian) and instructional teachers (if your child attends Crosspoint small group classes), this should help you and their teachers adjust instruction to assure your child receives the differentiated instruction needed for individual growth.
MAP tests are unique in that they adapt, or adjust, to your child’s level of learning. When taking a MAP assessment, the difficulty of each question is based on how well your child answers the previous questions. As your child answers correctly, questions become more difficult.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact your student(s) sponsor teacher.
