Field Flash
March 15, 2021
Dear Field Parents and Guardians,
We hope that you have had a nice week! As we look ahead to the final week before spring break, we would like to share a few reminders with our families as we transition to full, five-day in-person school for 89% of our Field students. This newsletter will also include information for all families that is not directly connected to in-person or remote learning.
For our fully remote students, if you'd like to submit a picture to be included in the yearbook, please take a moment to review these directions and submit your child(ren)'s photograph. We will offer a school picture re-take day for any families who missed our first picture day, or would like their child to re-take their picture. This picture re-take day will be on April 14th.
- Please take a picture of your child against a plain white background.
- Please take a "headshot" (collarbone, neck, face/head).
- Please email the picture to cgoodman@d64.org
- Important: subject line needs to include first and last name of child, grade level, and teacher's name.
- Please send the picture by April 16th
Speaking of pictures, if your child had his or her picture taken in February and you'd like a picture retake, please hang on to the picture and know that we'll have a picture retake day on April 14th. If your child wants a retake, on that day, you'll bring the pictures with you. More information to come on the times for the retake day and a process for remote students to sign up for a time.
For our in-person families, thank you for your participation in our lanyard system. Each morning we will Look for the Lanyard around your child's neck. The lanyard will signal to us that you've conducted the daily health certification. This means you've checked your child's temperature at home and reviewed the symptoms checklist. If your child comes to school without the lanyard, our nurse will check your child's temperature and review the symptoms. We'll follow up with parents via email. Thanks for helping us as we Look for the Lanyard! This program has been very successful so far with most of our students wearing their lanyards each day. When students begin with us in-person, each student will receive a lanyard on their first day.
We hope you all have a nice weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Courtney Goodman
Principal

A message about Music with Mrs. Kapustka
We wanted to share with you that Mrs. Jenny Kapustka will begin her maternity leave the week of March 22nd, and remain on leave through the end of this school year.
We are pleased to share that Ms. Anita Haapapuro will serve as the maternity leave substitute. Ms. Haapapuro has an extensive background in music education having been an elementary music teacher for over 9 years, as well as serving as a choir director. This past fall, Ms. Haapapuro recently completed a similar leave position at another D64 elementary school. We are so pleased to welcome Ms. Haapapuro to Field.
Beginning March 29th, she can be reached via email at ahaapapuro@d64.org. Mrs. Kapustka and Ms. Haapapuro will have an opportunity to connect prior to spring break for transition, as well.
Thank you for joining me in wishing Mrs. Kapustka well as she enjoys this time with her family, and welcoming Ms. Haapapuro to our Field community.
