Erin School Friday Folder
January 24, 2019
We are sharing the Winter Weather Guidelines in consideration of recent and upcoming forecasts.
Snow Day - Cold Day
There are times when temperature plays a role in closing school. With regards to wind chill weather decisions, area school will use the following as a guideline:
1) Wind Chill Advisory: School will likely remain open (above -35 degrees)
2) Wind Chill Warning: School will likely close (below -35 degrees)
Remember, while each school day is very valuable, if you believe it is too snowy or too cold to send your child safely to school, keep them home. Please call the office to let us know.

Parents...We need your help!
FITNESS FRIDAY is a tradition at Erin School. Our indoor Fitness Friday (4K - 5th grade) will take place on Friday, February 22 from 1:00 – 3:15 (volunteers meet in the gym at 12:30). For those of you that have not experienced Fitness Friday, it is an afternoon filled with movement, mentoring, healthy snacks, and lots of fun fitness challenges. We have many local businesses that partner with our school for this event.
We need of A LOT of parent helpers to make this event a success. Your job would be to simply help supervise a station and encourage the students as they work on the fitness challenges. Please email me if you are able to assist. If you have questions or know of any other businesses that may want to join or support our program, please send me an email at Mueller@erinschool.org.
Come join the fun and help create another successful Fitness Friday. Thanks for your support and assistance in providing fun and beneficial activities for the students at Erin School.

Pick up/Drop Off Procedures
Drop Off - The best place to drop off students prior to 7:30 a.m. is door 6. Door 1 is unlocked at 7:15 a.m. and door 3 is unlocked at 7:30.
Any children arriving before 7:30 a.m. must come through door 6 (Multi-purpose room). This means parents should drop their children off in the back of the school using the entrance off of Hwy O which is west of the school. If students enter through door 1 (Office), prior to 7:30 a.m. an adult must accompany them.
At 7:30 a.m., door 3 (Gym) will be unlocked. All students must report to multi-purpose room if they are not with an adult.
At 7:50 a.m., door 13 (Library/Kindergarten) will be unlocked. An adult will be present to greet the students who arrive. Parents walking their child in this door should park in a designated parking stall and make sure their car is not unattended in the fire lane. This is a drop off only lane.
Pick-up -At 3:16 p.m. door 1 (Office) and 3 (Gym) will be opened.
Let's Build It!

Raising Caring Kids
Raising Caring Kids: Small Steps, Big Goals
How did Barack Obama become president? Why is Serena Williams such a good tennis player? We often look at the end of the story – the A+ or the star athlete – and think that success came without effort. Instead, success often takes great effort and planning. Parents and teachers build children’s goal setting and problem solving skills by talking about the little steps needed to reach large goals. Here’s how to do it.
